    Set And Achieve Goals.

As parents ourselves we want our teens to be happy and successful. We must provide them with tools to help them develop skills in setting and achieving goals.

    .

It is not easy to have a teen that is driven to work hard, and stay motivated when it doesn’t involve TIKTOK, INSTAGRAM, YOUTUBE and video games. When teenagers practice and study martial arts they are ultimately drawn to achieving higher ranks. Each new belt presents challenges, higher levels of responsibility and accountability.

    .

This teaches teens to set goals and overcome obstacles through practical experience as well as studying. Our martial arts teenagers learn valuable lessons they will use not only on the mats, but throughout their entire lives.

    SOCIAL SKILLS 🧠

Taekwondo for Teens in Southlake, Grapevine, Alliance, Heritage Trace, Fort Worth, Haslet, Avondale, TX.

    Being Around The Successful Crowd.

Teens begin to spend more time with their friends than their families. It is within friendship groups that teens can develop and practice social skills.

    .

Teens are quick to point out to each other which behaviors are acceptable and which are not. Your teenager will usually make social choices based on what their friends like or dislike. They might also change their mind frequently.

    .

We know that teens are trying to gain a sense of achievement - a sense of being uniquely good at something. Our program allows them to do just that. We will also help them learn to see the bigger picture of things so they can make smart decisions.

Great Addition To Your College Application.

As a martial arts instructor, I’ve heard many students say they hope having a black belt will look good on their college applications. The UC Berkeley and many college and university admissions offices view the martial arts as an excellent extracurricular activity.

It is due to increased awareness to be mentally and physically stronger and self-defense skills.

  • Absolutely! Parents sign up teens specifically to help with weight loss and stamina.

Our cardio-vascular and fitness oriented classes will help your teenager achieve just that.

  • Yes! We care greatly about the well-being of our students who went through, or are currently dealing with bullying.

In fact, several of our current instructors were victims of child bullying and parents brought them to our studios for that reason.

  • Yes! Martial arts training will help kids improve their muscle strength, flexibility, and balance. This leads to greater control of their bodies.

As they become physically stronger kids will also gain new levels of confidence, and be able to handle sticky situations.

  • Absolutely, we love when our students bring their friends. Training is always more fun with buddies.

In most cases the friend signs up too, and both go on to become Black Belts together!

Please, remember to have the friend’s parents contact us to sign our digital waiver.

  • Yes, we can help. Due to puberty and changing hormones it is normal for teens to go through moods swings, and have fights with siblings, and parents.

Our karate program is based on traditional, disciplined training. Our instructors are firm, yet understanding.

We have helped many parents with their rebelling teens, and we are sure we help yours, too.

??

  • Yes! Studies show that a complex physical activity, like martial arts, strengthens neural networks in the brain, and enables teens with ADHD to practice self-control.

Additionally, consistent training can help increase your child's focus and concentration, as well as self-defense and responsibility.

And martial arts movement will help them develop coordination while building strength.

  • Yes and it is fun! Our students may compete in intra-school, regional and even national martial arts tournaments.

While it is optional we recommend it. Many black belt students tell us that it is due to the fun tournaments they stayed in the program, and got their Black Belts. Many have an amazing collection of medals.

  • Yes, students have the option to join our Leadership Program, and train with traditional martial arts weapons such as Nunchaku, Padded Escrima Stick, Sword, and Kamas.

In addition to class practice, students may compete in weapon forms at tournaments to win medals.

  • No! Your teen will not be fighting. They will be learning self-defense in a practical and safe way with partners of similar size, age and gender.

We also use Reveal branded, martial arts specific safety gear, to protect the head, feet, hands and other parts of the body during partner practices.

  • Generally, you will see fast progression in the first few months. Your teen might even surprise you how well they do in classes. Then, things will get more difficult, and you will see a slowdown in your child’s skills. This is normal.

Just like with any other sport, in order to be “good” in martial arts, it will take about 3-5 years of training.

We have many students who have been training with us for over a decade. You will be amazed at their skills, and how they handle themselves.

  • We recommend attendance regiment of 2x a week. Any less and your son or daughter will have a difficult time to remember the material and advance to the next rank.

It is best to set two specific days a week and stick to the routine to develop a habit. It takes about 2 months to settle into the new habit, and then things will get easier.
