The Kama like many of the other Okinawan weapons, started as a simple farm implement — the sickle or mini scythe. This explains the similarity to the Grim Reaper’s weapon, the scythe which is simply a long-handled, longer-bladed version of the kama.

Energy! Attitude! Power!

Last week I had a chance to meet Alex Mancillas, a World Champion, a Team Paul Mitchell member, and a fantastic martial arts athlete.

As a martial arts dad I was so excited 🤩my two young boys (7 and 6) had a chance to work with the world 🥇champion. They had so much fun! But there were 😭 many tears as well because they both wanted to be like him, but couldn't do the tricks and spins right away.

We were honored to have a guest martial artist, Mr. Fauchier, visit our school yesterday. He impressed all students with competition level Kama form, his confidence and determination to succeed.
